Biography:
Lee Hyun Woo was born into chaos. There was his father; a reputable theater director and playwright that was also famously known for his numerous scandals and inability to commit to a serious relationship, his marriage included and his mother; a general of a woman that had her own law firm and saw little difference between work and home. But let's not forget the woman that actually gave birth to him, a soft spoken woman with a pretty face and a silent desire to act. She'd never made it under the spotlight and had instead fallen foolishly into the clumsy charms of the man that would father her child.
To quiet the scandal before it could come to the attention of the media, the iron woman lawyer was quick to draw up a contract and a handsome sum of money to be paid to the no name actress. The baby, upon its birth, would be handed over to the couple to raise the child. So long as she kept her mouth shut, an annual allowance would be deposited to her account and all would be well.
Of course, growing up, Hyun Woo would know none of this. He would only know about his severe law abiding mother and his passion driven (and sometimes a little crazy) father. He'd always been closer to his father and as a result, became immersed in the world of theater, which launched a pretty early acting career for the child. While his father had wanted him to be exclusive to the stage, Hyun Woo became a quick fan of film.
What started off as a simple commercial for pizza quickly escalated into full blown drama contracts. His mother was quick to step in, acting as his manager and his father continued to coach him in acting. By the age of 15, his reputation was equal to that of both parents. And of course, with great popularity came skeletons that had been locked up in the closet, whether he'd put them there or not.
It was during a press conference just after the wrap of his first feature length film that a man had stood, claiming to be his biological uncle. Of course, at the time, the matter had been laughed off, but there will always be reporters that investigate every claim. It was months later that there were some truths to the random stranger's claims. His parents were quick to brush the matter aside, making official statements that such things were not true, even paying others off to make sure they said the same. Hyun Woo couldn't help but notice how desperately they tried to silence the gossip and, took it upon himself to get a DNA test.
Needless to say, he got a bit of a shock.
Understanding he would need to stay out of the media for a bit, Hyun Woo decided to enroll in college and return to his love of theater. Yonsei's theater program was small enough that it didn't attract much media beyond the campus grounds. His parents had no choice but to respect his decision and in no time, was packed up and Yonsei bound.
Hopefully, four years would be enough for this little thing to blow him right by so he could get on with his life and his interests.
